Christmas Outfit Ideas for Women

We’ve seen a flurry of trends in the past month- from red being the hottest color, to bows on everything         (even dog ears), and fur. Here’s a guide to Christmas outfit ideas for women.

Red

Red is the color of the season, and not just because its Christmas. Red has become the it color this winter. Most women have dark red nails right now, spurred by Alix Earle’s posts. Adding red to your outfit is a surefire way to look festive this Christmas. I’ve attached some inspo below.

I deem this the classy yet modern studious outfit. I love the bright red of her cardigan paired with the black and white. The skirt, white shirt, and ballet flats scream Parisian to me. Bonus points if you wear your hair up with this outfit.

Also, mini skirts with slits had their moment. Now they look cheap.. Stick to mini skirts with no slits, you’ll thank me later.

Another way to amp up your neutral outfit is to wear red tights or socks. I like the burgundy tights with the navy dress. Usually, I wouldn’t pair these together but for some reason it makes sense. Look at dark red as the neutral of this season.  Pair it with colors you normally wouldn’t.

Bright red can still be used to add a pop of color to a neutral outfit. The red socks here turn this regular outfit into something exciting and fashion forward. It may seem totally out of your comfort zone, but red socks are in.

Bows

The coquette aesthetic has become mainstream thanks to Tiktok. Its a non sexual aesthetic based on reclaiming feminine girlhood.

Now that that’s out of the way… The Coquette aesthetic and bows are synonymous which may be why bows are having a moment right now. I’ve seen bows in hair, on shoes, on dog ears, and even on tumblers. There is just something so feminine and dainty about them and they can dress up any outfit. You can wear a large one in your hair or even small ones to tie your braids. For a more formal look, I’ve seen bows incorporated into many holiday dresses like the one below. You may pair it with a duster coat and mules.

Fur

Large fur coats circa 90’s are back in style. Hailey Bieber in Aspen is our style icon for this. She is currently there with her beau and friends and has been rocking the fur coat look. We love this brown and black one for a day to night look, but adore the below grey one for a more dramatic look. You may pair your coat with a turtleneck, a mini skirt and boots, or trousers and sneakers.
